
Hashkivenu (2010). Mixed media. 25” x 17” x 17.” Hashkivenu reads as a miniature model of a memorial for the Jungfernhof concentration camp. I hope to create an aesthetic and sacred space for commemoration. Working directly with the land, the site of murder is symbolically transposed into a place of safety and protection.

Kaddish (2008). Mixed media. 12” x 8” x 8”. Kaddish takes the long view, citing the persecution of Jews over the centuries, while creating an altar of hope. The mirror captures the viewer’s eye, while indicting onlookers as bystanders to the ongoing genocides of the 21st century.
